Who are we
Welcome to the site of the Tuscan holiday home “Podere Campo alle Serpi”. This large house was originally built as a monastery. During the renovation, the architectural features have been beautifully preserved, making you feel right in old Italy. It is quietly located, yet close to the beaches of the Mediterranean and the famous vineyards of Bolgheri. There is no less than 16 adults. Baby beds and high chairs are also present. All rooms exude the atmosphere of ancient Italy. There is a swimming pool, but the beach is also not far away. Although it is wonderfully quiet here, the town of Cecina is nearby. Within 10 minutes you’ll be in town to do some shopping or stroll around the main market on Tuesday morning. Don’t forget to explore the area, as there are countless mountain villages that are well worth a visit: Bolgheri, Castagneto Carducci, Bibbona, Suvereto etc.. You can find more about this on the special page. For the active people there is also a water park in Cecina and near Cecina Nord a climbing forest. You can also just walk and climb nearby. Who are we?
Above is the beautiful historic property we bought. We will not always be there and want more people to enjoy and be charmed by this Italy. That’s why the house is rented out. We are Rikie and Pedro van der Werf and have been avid Italian goers for years. After more than 10 years on holiday in Tuscany, the desire to have a place of their own grew. This started with a free look around, but gradually the plans became more and more serious. When Pedro retired early, things got really mean. We have been coming to this beautiful region for more than 15 years and our dream has become a reality this year! From Monday 14 September 2020 we are the proud owners of this beautiful, typical Italian casa. Originally it was a monastery, but after years of decay it has been beautifully renovated while retaining the original style elements.
